Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients with respiratory diagnoses and medical conditions, including those requiring tracheostomy care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and manage patients' vital signs, including oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Current RN licensure in the state of West Virginia.
- Experience in Med-Surg/Telemetry/Critical Care, with a focus on respiratory care and tracheostomy management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the healthcare team.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
The Pulmonary & Observation Unit at Thomas Memorial Hospital is a 32-bed unit that provides care to adult and geriatric patients with respiratory diagnoses and medical conditions. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy.
