Concrete Finisher

Tri Scapes Inc. is seeking an experienced concrete finisher to join its Public Works team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete finishing and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Place forms to ensure the required depth and pitch of concrete
• Monitor the effect of heat, wind, and cold on curing concrete
• Remove edges on expansion joints and sides
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
• Polish surfaces using smoothing materials, abrasive tools, and surfacing machines
• Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
• Waterproof, damp-proof, and restore concrete surfaces
• Compact materials using power vibrators to create leveled bases
• Finish concrete surfaces with rough or smooth patterns depending on customer preference
• Signal truck drivers and move chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms
• Cast and spread concrete to patch voids
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
• Supervise and train workers to help them use special tools to spread concrete
• Perform other City work orders: asphalt and stormwater related
• Conduct routine equipment and fleet maintenance
• Repair minor equipment problems. Notify company mechanic of major equipment repairs
• Maintain organized, safe, and clean shop
• Daily Safety Meeting Attendance

• Heavy equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini-excavator, asphalt roller) preferred
• Single and/or tandem axle dump truck operation experience preferred
• Must be physically capable of performing all duties relating to the position, including lifting up to 65 lbs., and the ability to bend, climb, stoop, and sit, all multiple times per day
• Valid Class A CDL preferred
