Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. in Wheeling, West Virginia. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients in the Intermediate Care Facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine daily nursing care and services to patients in accordance with their assessment, plan of care, and care plan.
  • Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc. in an informative and descriptive manner.
  • Measure and record temperatures, pulse, and respirations.
  • Assist patients with daily hygiene, including dental care, mouth care, bath, hair care, backrubs, nail care, and shaving.
  • Turn and position bedfast patients every 2 hours and as needed.
  • Assist patients with bowel and/or bladder functions.
  • Answer call bells promptly.
  • Assist with the care of dying patients and provide postmortem care.
  • Provide perineal and indwelling catheter care.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living skills with and without adaptive equipment.
  • Serve food trays and assist with feeding as indicated.
  • Report all allegations of patient abuse and/or misappropriation of patient property.
  • Report all accidents and incidents observed during the shift.
Requirements
  • Current WV Certified Nursing Assistant Certification or applicable state licensure.
  • Successful completion of WV DHHR Protected Services Record Check and WV CARES fingerprint-based criminal background check.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
  • High school education or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year nursing assistant experience in long term care preferred.
