Job Summary:

The OR Technician is responsible for performing scrubbing duties for operative procedures and assisting the Nurse Circulator as directed. This role requires a high level of expertise in maintaining aseptic principles and ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room.

Key Responsibilities:

Sets up the operating room for surgical procedures accurately and comprehensively.
Identifies and prepares instrumentation and supplies as needed.
Maintains aseptic principles and practices throughout the procedure.
Assists the Nurse Circulator in preparing the patient for surgery and transporting specimens to the designated area.
Tests and maintains equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Monitors inventory levels and notifies the Nurse Manager of any shortages.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist training program or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience in scrubbing all services, including Ortho and Spine procedures.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
