Key Responsibilities- Provide Diagnostic and Treatment Services: Perform diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiograms, and stress tests. Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans for various cardiovascular conditions.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work effectively with nurses, surgeons, and specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain Accurate Medical Records: Ensure accurate and complete medical records for all patients.
- Stay Current with Industry Developments: Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in cardiology through continuing education.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Residency and Fellowship Training: Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Fellowship training in cardiology may be preferred.
- Board Certification and Licensure: Board certification in cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA. Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
- Experience: At least one year of experience providing cardiac care in a clinical setting.
