Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Pediatric is responsible for examining, evaluating, and developing treatment plans for patients with functional limitations and disabilities. This role requires consultation with healthcare providers regarding patient care and adherence to Corewell Health's customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct patient care: Provides physical therapy evaluations, treatment plans, and discharge plans, ensuring patient education and significant others are involved.
  • Documentation: Accurately records evaluation results, treatment plans, and daily treatment according to laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Communication: Maintains verbal, written, and electronic communication with the interdisciplinary treatment team, referral sources, physicians, and 3rd party payors.
  • Leadership: Participates in community outreach, CQI, marketing, cost containment, program development, PTA/AT/aide/student supervision, and teaches staff, physicians, and others.
  • Professional development: Attends staff meetings, maintains competence through self-study, in-services, and continuing education programs, and clinical education to students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required; Master's or Doctorate Degree preferred.
  • Michigan State License in Physical Therapy required; BLS certification required.
  • Written or verbal communication skills required; word processing and computer skills required.
