General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer Associate to join our team. As a Network Engineer Associate, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing complex network systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design and Implementation
Design and plan complex network systems for Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs).
Network Architecture and PlanningProvide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, including hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs.
Network Testing and TroubleshootingConduct testing of network systems and provide troubleshooting for complex and challenging problems as they arise.
Technical Expertise and MentorshipMaintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, content filtering, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Video Teleconferencing.
Leadership and CollaborationProvide mentoring and leadership to less experienced engineers via technical talks and hands-on assistance.
Qualifications
- Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or another related STEM field.
ExperienceCandidates without a college degree will be considered but must show substantial experience and knowledge in lieu of a degree.
Technical SkillsMust demonstrate an understanding of the following technologies and protocols and have experience in their use: Ethernet switching (Spanning tree with enhancements, VLANs, 802.1Q), Wireless Networking, Routing (BGP, OSPF), IPv6, Firewalling, Video Teleconferencing, Content filtering, DNS, DHCP, Quality of Service (DSCP, COS), Windows Networking, Linux.
Desirable SkillsVendor certification from Cisco or Juniper is desired at the CCNP or JNCIS level but not required. Firewall configuration and management experience is desired. Experience with firewalls from Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto desired. Some programming experience with a scripting language such as Perl, JavaScript, Python, etc. is desired but not required.

The likely salary range for this position is $55,250 - $74,750.
