We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medical services to patients.

About the Role

">

This is a Monday through Friday position from 8-5, with no call, weekends, or holidays. You will see patients in the clinic, perform clinical administrative tasks, and collaborate with a team of physicians to create access to urgent and follow-up visits. The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Primary Care.

Responsibilities

">
  • Work independently to assess, diagnose, and initiate medical processes and procedures commensurate with training and experience.
  • Perform and document comprehensive health histories and physical assessments.
  • Formulate diagnoses, identify problems, and health risk profiles, document, and clearly communicate with other members of the healthcare team.
  • Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with peers and colleagues.
  • Order medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with Virginia Prescriptive regulations.
  • Evaluate and analyze patient responses to the disease process and/or therapeutic, diagnostic interventions.
  • Provide information, education, and support to patients/families regarding disease processes and treatment plans.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as appropriate and as determined by department or unit.
  • Manage patients in accordance with established UVA Medical Center and UVA UPG policies and procedures.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

">
  • Hold a graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant program.
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Primary Care.
  • Be licensed or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia.
  • Demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies.
