Job Summary:

As a Senior Medical Technologist at Dignity Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care. Under the direction of the Supervisor, Manager, Director, and Medical Director, you will perform technical supervision and clinical testing in one or more of the following areas: blood bank, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology, serology, or Point of Care testing.

Responsibilities:

Obtain or receive specimens and perform laboratory tests according to written procedures
Understand methods and principles, perform and evaluate quality control on a daily basis
Inform the Supervisor or Manager of problems and ensure preventive maintenance on instrumentation is completed according to scheduled guidelines
Interpret results as to their accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits and inform the physician/nurse of critical values

Qualifications:

Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Technologist
B.S. degree in Medical Technology or related field of study
Ability to work independently, read and analyze technical material, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Highly effective communication and relationship interpersonal skills
Maintain knowledge related to POC within the State of Nevada, CLIA, JCAHO, and the CAP
Maintain reliable transportation for limited travel between hospitals and Urgent Care locations
