Exceptional opportunity for a pediatrician to become part of our esteemed neonatology team in Austin, TX
Responsibilities
We are in search of a board-certified or board-eligible pediatrician interested in practicing within a level III or IV NICU as a pediatric intensive care hospitalist. Under the guidance of our neonatologist, the pediatric intensive care hospitalist will have the opportunity to operate at an elevated scope without the need for additional training.
Our dedicated neonatologists, NNPs, and pediatricians deliver outstanding care to the infants of Austin, Texas, and its neighboring regions. Our team attends to newborns at our advanced Level IV NICU at Dell Children's Medical Center, a premier provider of pediatric services in Central Texas. We also extend specialized care for infants requiring Level II and Level III NICU services across our various Ascension Seton Hospitals.
- Clinical duties encompass prenatal and newborn consultations, participation in high-risk deliveries, and comprehensive management of neonates in the NICU and newborn nurseries across our multiple hospital units.
- Scheduling consists of 24-hour shifts
- Medical services include HFOV, nitric oxide, and total body cooling
- NICU supported by a robust MFM program and pediatric sub-specialties
- Neonatologists remain on-site
- Cohesive and collaborative team with minimal turnover
- Numerous avenues for professional growth: education, mentoring, quality improvement, research, policy development, leadership
- Experienced practitioners and new graduates are encouraged to apply
Our practice is rapidly expanding alongside the city of Austin, with these recent enhancements:
- Special Delivery Unit at Dell Children's Medical Center, one of the few delivery centers in the nation integrated with a children's hospital
- Comprehensive Fetal Care Center
- Neonatal Fellowship Program initiated July 2022
- Collaboration with UT Dell Medical School
- Rapidly growing neonatal cardiac services
- Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) capabilities
- Network-wide, data-driven, interdisciplinary simulation program
Practice coverage extends across multiple sites, but we are specifically hiring a pediatric intensive care hospitalist for the following locations:
- Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, Level IV unit, featuring private rooms for neonatal surgical services, cardiac services, advanced imaging procedures, and various pediatric medical sub-specialties
- Ascension Seton Medical Center of Austin, Level III unit, with a newly developed, state-of-the-art women and infant's tower
