Job Summary

Hopedale Medical Complex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing swim lessons to children of all levels and abilities, teaching them the basic strokes of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement swim lessons for pre-school to school-age children
  • Instruct and evaluate students participating in swim lessons
  • Ensure the safety of participants and parents/legal guardians
  • Collaborate with other aquatics staff to develop optimal strategies for teaching and behavior management
  • Lead group and private swimming lessons to participants of all ages and ability levels
  • Recommend, implement, and communicate policies and procedures related to aquatics within the Wellness Center

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in secondary school
  • Background in swimming or life guarding
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, members, and HMC personnel
  • Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate swimming techniques

Working Conditions:

  • General Wellness Center environment with occasional exposure to infectious material, contagious disease, bodily excretions, and hazardous material
  • Ability to walk, stand, kneel, and swim for 100% of work time and able to lift & carry up to fifty pounds for 10% throughout the workday

Compensation: $25 hourly wage
