Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiologic Technologist to join our team at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Downtown Campus. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for organizing and performing CT procedures to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and perform CT procedures to apply x-ray energy and computer processing techniques
  • Prepare patients for CT procedures by determining technical factors and procedures appropriate for patient's age and condition
  • Maintain all equipment by safe, cautious, and proper use, reporting malfunctions immediately
  • Operate CT equipment in accordance with established techniques and routines
  • Perform computer functions, i.e., PACS, RIS, HIS, order entry, post-processing of images
  • Identify, access, and prepare medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
  • Provide care and protection of patients during procedures, assuming care for the emotional, psychological, and physical needs
Requirements
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment
  • Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education
