The Environmental Services Floor Technician plays a vital role in ensuring that assigned areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition by following established procedures. This position recognizes the significance of positive public relations and performs assigned tasks with this consideration in mind. The technician continually seeks opportunities to enhance the appearance of the facility.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conducts floor care activities, including bonnet cleaning.
  • Performs extraction carpet cleaning.
  • Mops and scrubs floors as needed.
  • Buffs and waxes floors to maintain their shine.
  • Disposes of waste in accordance with protocols.
  • Collects and distributes linens efficiently.
  • Prepares rooms for meetings as assigned, ensuring they are ready for use.
  • Maintains cleanliness in outdoor areas surrounding the facility.
  • Adheres to safety protocols while performing duties, in line with established policies.
  • Reports any injuries, accidents, or safety concerns involving employees, patients, or visitors to the supervisor.


MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent experience.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
No specific certification required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Prior experience in housekeeping or a related service industry role is preferred.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to clean patient rooms effectively.
Basic computer proficiency.
Familiarity with floor care, carpet cleaning, and related equipment.
Strong communication skills to interact with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and engage in repetitive activities.
Capable of climbing ladders and lifting weights ranging from 25 to 55 lbs.
Walking and standing for 35% to 75% of the workday.
Able to push and pull weights between 25 to 50 lbs.
Occasional reaching above shoulder level.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
Involves working with cleaning chemicals.
