Job Summary

USCRI is seeking a skilled Clinician to join our team. As a Clinician, you will conduct mental health assessments for unaccompanied youth, provide individual and group counseling, and develop individual service plans. You will also participate in weekly meetings to formulate mental health treatment plans and present a clear and clinically well-formulated view of youth at case conferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake interviews and diagnostic assessments with youth for placement and ensure a well-coordinated admission process;
  • Provide ongoing individual and group counseling and develop individual service plans and 30 days reviews and updates;
  • Participate in weekly meetings to formulate mental health treatment plans and ongoing review of youth's treatment plan;
  • Present a clear and clinically well-formulated view of youth at case conferences which will assist in decision-making regarding treatment and permanency for the youth;
  • Handle behavioral incidents as needed and ensure that each youth's immediate and ongoing mental health needs are being met;
  • Utilize clinical skills in daily interactions with youth on an individual, family, or group setting and through team meetings guide and monitor the quality of services provided to youth during their stay;
  • Hold weekly group therapy sessions with youth to address issues such as improving social skills, behavior management, and differences in culture and societal norms and to prepare youth for discharge;
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor;
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) and 2 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience OR Master's degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, or other relevant behavioral science in which clinical training and experience is a program requirement;
  • License or license eligible (intern) to provide clinical services is required;
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and ability to utilize advanced clinical and administrative skills and responsibilities;
  • Knowledge about family interactions, reunification, and well-being and permanency principles is desired;
  • Must pass a criminal background, child abuse and neglect registry clearance and other screening requirements including health assessment, Tuberculosis test and drugs test;
  • Valid state issued driver's license and auto insurance is required;
  • Possess or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification;
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Spanish or Creole is required;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required;
  • Exceptional time management and attention to detail;
  • Flexibility and willingness to work irregular and long hours including evenings and weekends as the position requires on call rotation with staff;
  • Support a trauma-informed approach and therapeutic learning environment when interacting with youth;
  • Support all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies;
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm and composed under stressful situations;
  • Ability to work collaborative with staff, residents, service providers and others;
  • Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make good and independent judgements or decisions;

Training Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training;
  • Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory training;
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor(s), program director or Human Resources;
Physical Demands
  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying;
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English and Spanish;
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements);
