The Packing Specialist is responsible for the meticulous packing of products intended for distribution to various facilities and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure products and their components are packed securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Utilize packing materials such as bubble wrap, foam, and cardboard to safeguard items effectively.
  • Accurately label packages with the appropriate shipping information and maintain necessary documentation for inventory and shipping.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of products prior to packing to confirm they meet quality standards, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Monitor the inventory of packing supplies and collaborate with the inventory team for timely reordering.
  • Work in conjunction with production and shipping departments to guarantee prompt and precise order fulfillment.
  • Propose enhancements to packing processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in a packing or warehouse setting is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail for inspecting and securely packing products with an emphasis on quality.
  • Physical capability to lift heavy items (frequently up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding basic instructions, writing simple correspondence, and communicating effectively in small groups.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals, and understand rates and percentages.
  • Familiarity with computer systems for labeling and inventory management is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: Hourly rate starting at $22.58, commensurate with experience.

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Daytime hours
  • Monday through Friday

Work Environment: This role requires in-person attendance at the designated facility.
