Job Title: Software Integration Engineer

Ascent AeroSystems is a leading company in the unmanned aerial system (UAS) industry, designing and manufacturing rugged coaxial UAS for industrial, public safety, and defense markets. We're seeking a highly skilled Software Integration Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

This is a newly created, full-time position based in our Wilmington, Massachusetts headquarters. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating various communications, sensors, and mission equipment with our coaxial UAS. Reporting to the company's VP of Technology, this role requires strong software and networking skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with electrical engineers and other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate software systems, including drivers and GUIs for hardware integrations.
  • Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues, and develop documentation for the production team.
  • Plan and conduct thorough testing and validation of software systems, and help establish software development standards.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines in the planning, design, and development of new products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, with 5+ years of post-graduate work experience.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming, familiarity with Git or similar software management tools, and strong debugging skills.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Resourceful problem-solver with a keen ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
