This role acts as a bridge, facilitating communication and support among pharmacy personnel, technicians, and hospital staff to ensure comprehensive care for patients receiving cancer treatments.

Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver pharmaceutical care aimed at achieving the best therapeutic results for patients.

2. Evaluates medication profiles to ensure the selection of appropriate drugs, dosages, routes, and frequencies.

3. Identifies and addresses existing drug-related issues while formulating strategies to avert potential medication problems.

4. Oversees all aspects of pharmaceutical care provided to patients, ensuring high standards of service.

5. Enhances systems and procedures to guarantee the safe, precise, and timely delivery of pharmaceutical care.

6. Educates pharmacists through training programs to bolster their understanding of suitable pharmacotherapy practices and patient monitoring.


7. Manages the human resources within the program to fulfill staffing requirements, including recruitment, scheduling, performance assessments, and professional development opportunities.

Performs additional duties as reasonably assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required:
Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy; advanced degree in Pharmacy and/or completion of a residency in a hospital pharmacy accredited by the American Society of Health.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:
Minimum of three years of experience as a pharmacy technician OR three years in prior authorization and/or copay assistance programs OR a combination of three years in pharmacy technician and prior authorization/cost assistance roles.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

Required:
Must achieve Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) within one year of employment; must possess a current license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina or be eligible to obtain it within two months of employment.
