Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Delaware Technical Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing building maintenance and repair work, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  2. Conduct inspections to identify and correct building and equipment problems.
  3. Repair and replace building structures and equipment, including roofs, floors, walls, and ceilings.
  4. Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and components.
  5. Order and stock building supplies and materials.
  6. Communicate with supervisors and other staff members to coordinate maintenance activities.
  7. Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree in a relevant field and four years of relevant experience.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. The successful candidate will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of weather conditions.
