Mergers and Acquisitions Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mergers and Acquisitions Associate to join our team at Mackenzie Stuart. As a key member of our Business Development team, you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of our add-on growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Transaction Execution: Assist in the execution of our add-on affiliation transactions, including financial modeling, due diligence review, and deal structuring.
  • Lead Deal-Related Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of potential affiliation targets, including financial and operational modeling, and present findings to senior management.
  • Manage Financial Due Diligence: Oversee financial due diligence and support the executive team during deal structuring and negotiations.
  • Develop Investment Memorandums: Create comprehensive investment memorandums and present to senior management, highlighting the rationale for affiliation investments.
  • Track Affiliation Targets: Assist in tracking a robust pipeline of affiliation targets developed by the Business Development team leaders.
  • Generate Scorecards: Create scorecards evaluating add-on opportunities and summarize information to the executive team.
  • Support Organic Growth Initiatives: Aid in the execution of targeted organic business development initiatives.
  • Present to Senior Management: Work closely with the executive management team to develop presentation materials for quarterly meetings with the Board of Directors.
  • Lead by Example: Provide leadership toward additional value-added activities and support operational and departmental excellence.
Requirements:
  • Work Experience: 2-4 years' experience in Transaction Advisory Services, Valuation, Investment Banking, and Accounting.
  • Deal Process Expertise: Strong desire to learn and execute on the deal process from initial screening to close of a transaction.
  • Autonomy and Entrepreneurship: Ability to work in an autonomous, entrepreneurial, and fast-moving environment.
  • Education: BA/BS degree in Economics, Finance, or a business-related major.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good written and oral presentation skills, with the ability to present concisely and with detail.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgency.
