About the HR Coordinator Role

The HR Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting team member compensation, union leave, and benefits. This position will also have opportunities to support the leave administration program, including requests for leaves of absence, access to short-term and long-term benefits, and return-to-work experiences for non-work medical injury and illness, family medical leaves, and other non-medical leaves (military, jury duty).

This role will collaborate with team members, Defense leadership, UAW leadership, COEs, process-owners, and third-party administrators to deliver an experience that reinforces our People First Culture and a culture of overall team member well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Member Service/Engagement: Field team member questions and concerns, provide guidance and information to create connections and remove barriers throughout their compensation experience to ensure they are cared for in a People First manner.
  • Technical/Systems Administration: Update team member attendance and payroll records to ensure accurate tracking of time-off, intermittent leaves, return-to-work data, and ensure that pay is processed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Partnership: Work collaboratively with leaders to ensure they are aware of job and compensation changes; partner with third-party administrators to ensure smooth processing and provide liaison with team members as needed; field questions from leaders, UAW leadership, HRBPs, Health Services, etc.
  • Leave Administration/Processing: Assist with leave administration as needed through partnering with our third-party administrator.
  • Measurement: Track key metrics and generate reports for leaders and key stakeholders to bring awareness to usage/compensation changes and other key metrics to enable effective leader decision making and discussion with UAW leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Be the voice of the customer by channeling feedback from team members and leaders to drive continuous process improvement and create better team member experiences.
  • Compliance: Assist with investigations and conduct HR file audits to ensure compliance with new and ongoing Federal, State, and local laws.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • One (1) or more years of relevant experience in HR or customer care.
  • Possess exceptional customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and develop continuous improvement solutions to better serve team members.
