Job Summary

Skillforce Inc. is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and service all products and equipment related to commercial HVAC systems, including forced air, boilers, split systems, package units, hydronic, air make up, exhaust systems, and more.
  • Clean and repair commercial HVAC systems products and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schemes, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications to ensure our systems are running efficiently.
  • Use construction equipment, hand and power tools as needed to complete tasks.
  • Work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
  • Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires.
  • Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating on-site work as necessary.
  • Maintain vehicles by keeping records of service manuals, scheduling, and completing repairs and maintenance service.
  • Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
  • Stay up-to-date with current manufacturers' products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
  • Provide technical support to customers and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work in environments of varying temperatures: indoors and outdoors, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, etc.
  • Ability to perform work in areas of exposure to moderate noise, fumes, airborne particulates, and dust.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or from heights.
Requirements
  • Experience in commercial HVAC industry and residential field.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity, electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
  • Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required.
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
  • Must be available and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned, to include working varying schedules that may require extended hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) and require client-specific safety standards.
