Job Opportunity: Full-Time School Psychologist

Job Summary:

BlazerJobs is seeking an experienced School Psychologist to fill a full-time contract position in Skokie, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field and be licensed or certified as a School Psychologist in Illinois.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to evaluate cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students. Interpret assessment results to identify students' strengths and needs and make recommendations for interventions and accommodations.
  • Counseling and Crisis Intervention: Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized intervention plans and support strategies. Provide consultation and training to school staff and parents on topics related to child development, behavior management, and learning strategies.
  • IEP Meetings and Functional Behavior Assessments: Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute insights and recommendations related to students' academic and behavioral goals. Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans to address challenging behaviors in school settings.

Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid license or certification as a School Psychologist in Illinois.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience working as a School Psychologist, with a strong preference for experience with special education students and families.
