Job Summary
The HVAC/R Service Apprentice works under the direct supervision of a Commercial HVAC/R Technician to assist with service, maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who want to learn the trade and eventually become a skilled technician.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with initial service calls to develop HVAC/R troubleshooting skills.
  • Participate in repair work and preventative maintenance calls.
  • Assist with system replacements and upgrades.
  • Complete necessary paperwork using company-issued technology.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication with customers and customer service representatives.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on company vehicles.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant technical certifications or vocational training in HVAC/R are preferred. Prior experience in maintenance, mechanical, or facility services can be beneficial. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential. You must be able to lift up to 85 pounds and use your hands to handle or control tools and equipment. Additionally, you should be able to work in high locations, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work in cramped spaces. A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record is required. You must also pass a drug screen and background check.
