Key Qualifications:

Educational and Professional Background

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 6 years in aircraft/component inspection is required, including at least 3 years on large or mid-size aircraft. An Airframe and Powerplant License is essential. Role Objective: The Senior Airworthiness Inspector is responsible for the physical inspection of aircraft and components, as well as reviewing pertinent documentation to ensure that workmanship adheres to high-quality standards, ensuring that customer aircraft are returned to service in a condition that meets airworthiness criteria with all necessary documentation properly completed and filed.

Job Responsibilities

Core Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Oversee all quality control inspections on aircraft/components within the Repair Station. Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft, engines, and component repairs and modifications to ensure compliance with FAA approved/acceptable data. Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements during aircraft maintenance or outfitting. Maintain accurate, organized, and legible records of work performed on aircraft/components. Collaborate with RTS throughout assigned projects to ensure timely production of accurate aircraft records. Perform audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service. Ensure that aircraft/components are airworthy before any flight operations. Mentor technicians on effective documentation practices. Additional Responsibilities: Conduct research on Aircraft Log Books and/or computer maintenance programs to track ongoing inspection programs, aircraft status, Airworthiness Directive status, and Service Bulletin status. Continuously monitor compliance with FAR Part 145 and the FAA accepted site Repair Station and Quality Control Manual. Assist leads and supervisors in the training of Airworthiness Inspectors, promoting high-quality standards through instruction and example. Work with and guide subordinate mechanics/technicians in troubleshooting and operational/functional procedures. Sign FAA Statements of conformity for projects completed on assigned aircraft. May perform ODA functions as assigned. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Requirements: Proficient in the application of Federal Aviation Regulations, FAA forms, and documentation. Skilled in blueprint reading and the use/interpretation of Maintenance Manuals, test specifications, and other inspection-related documentation as necessary. Familiar with FAA certification approval processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word with a minimum typing speed of 20 WPM. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
