POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:


A Senior Chemist will utilize expert knowledge of analytical techniques, chemical principles, and laboratory practices to perform standard chemical analysis of inner and outer nutritional products in the quality control lab.


Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare standards and reagents, calibrate, and operate sophisticated laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, FTIR, UV-Visible spectrophotometer.
  • Document data in a lab notebook and follow cGMP guidelines.
  • Review or approve testing results in laboratory notebooks and LIMS.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in multiple areas of the Chemistry lab on tests and instrument analysis.
  • Interpret test results and compare with determined standards and limits.
  • Train junior chemists to run experiments for release and stability studies.
  • Review product certificates of analysis for accuracy and conformance.
  • Investigate laboratory out-of-specification results for product and raw material testing.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient laboratory.
