GPAC is seeking a Licensed Professional Geologist or Certified Engineering Geologist in the State of California to lead our Forestry team.

This role is pivotal in geologic and slope stability assessments for private timberlands, including overseeing Timber Harvest Plans, Habitat Conservation Plan compliance, watershed analysis, and landslide mitigation.

We are looking for an expert in mass wasting geomorphology and soil conservation in forested environments to join our team as Senior Geologist and Environmental Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor geologists and geologists-in-training
  • Conduct field studies, mapping, and aerial photographic analysis to assess geologic formations, mass wasting, and geomorphology
  • Develop and submit Timber Harvest Plans and Watershed Wide Waste Discharge Reports
  • Mitigate and restore landslides, ensuring minimal environmental impact
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Registered Professional Foresters and other resource professionals

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forestry geosciences, with a minimum of five years of experience in related roles. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Geomorphology, Soil Science, or Watershed Science is required, along with licensure as a Licensed Professional Geologist or Certified Engineering Geologist in California.

A competitive salary based on experience and skills, with a range of $125,000 - $175,000 per year, is offered, along with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
