About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pathologist Assistant to join our team at Incyte Diagnostics. As a key member of our anatomic pathology department, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic support to our pathologists and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform gross examination and dictation of surgical specimens, ensuring accurate and detailed documentation of findings.
  • Photograph and document gross specimens for teaching purposes and patient reports, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Assist pathologists in frozen sections, troubleshooting and resolving issues with frozen section preparation and staining, and maintaining the cryostat.
  • Process fresh lymph nodes, including touch preps and representative sections in RPMI, and present findings to pathologists.
  • Support the maintenance of the cryostat and assist pathologists in autopsies, conferring with attending pathologists to identify special techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations, and support the department in being inspection-ready.
Requirements
  • BS Degree required; MS Degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an NAACLS-accredited PA Program and pass the ASCP certification exam (maintain ASCP certification in good standing).
  • 1+ year experience preferred; exceptions made for OJT certified Pathologist Assistants.
  • Medical terminology and basic PC skills, including MS Office, and the ability to learn new software.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform effectively under pressure and work collaboratively as part of a team.
