Job Summary
The Health Unit Coordinator/Nursing Assistant (HUC NA) plays a vital role in our patient care team, supporting patients with activities of daily living and performing patient care skills as delegated by licensed nurses. This dynamic role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Perform patient care skills as delegated by licensed nurses, such as vital sign collection and medication administration
- Collaborate with unit leadership to coordinate day-to-day activities of the patient care unit, including processing patient records and communicating with nursing staff, physicians, and interdepartmental personnel
- Maintain and demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability of delegated tasks, and support department operational needs
Requirements
- Successful completion of KH Health Coordinator training upon hire into role
- Successful completion of KH Nursing Assistant Orientation upon hire into role
- Certification in CPR/BLS
- One of the following: six months experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital or long-term care facility, completion of Nursing Assistant course in the last six months, nursing student or listed as pre-nursing as shown on transcripts, or current employee with Kettering Health
Preferred Qualifications
- Reading, writing, and basic math skills

- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
