- Collect and process blood samples for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Provide phlebotomy training and product evaluation as requested.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Two years of experience as a BWH phlebotomist with a performance evaluation score of effective or above.
- Knowledge of proper aseptic techniques and ability to select appropriate vacutainer tubes and volumes for test requests.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Extremely busy work environment with potential exposure to needle sticks and punctures from other sharps.
- Exposure to patients with infectious diseases, requiring adherence to Infection Control and laboratory guidelines.
