Responsibilities

As a Retail Operations Associate, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience

2. Courteous and helpful to other associates

3. Understanding and using company tools such as; average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO)

4. Receiving deliveries, coding where applicable, rotating and putting in appropriate storage area

5. Ensuring that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines

6. Maintaining proper product levels in all areas within the Perishable Department including meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream

7. Processing beef and grinds as directed from the planned production tool and as requested or needed

8. Wrapping, labeling, weighing and stocking meat case as requested or needed

9. Assembling, disassembling, and cleaning the grinder as requested or needed

10. Properly cleaning and sanitizing the department

11. Maintaining variety and layout standards

12. Ensuring that all advertising and sales promotion materials applicable to the department are properly utilized

13. Maintaining a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies and standard practice

14. Understanding and following Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures

15. Observing and correcting all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents

16. Reporting all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty

17. Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations

18. Wearing the Food Lion uniform with apron, complete with name badge, when on duty, having a neat and clean appearance while adhering to the Food Lion dress code

19. Successfully completing Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet and Training Aid courses

20. Performing all other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the following qualifications and requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills

• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job

• Ability to use technical information to solve problems

• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions

• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
