The MRI Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in the execution of advanced imaging procedures utilizing high field strength magnets. This position is eligible for relocation and includes a $15,000 commitment bonus.

Work Schedule

2nd Shift: 3pm - 11:30pm

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough safety screenings for patients prior to MRI procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists to establish and implement imaging protocols.
- Initiate intravenous lines and administer contrast agents as per established guidelines.
- Assess the quality of MRI scans, organize processed images, and ensure proper labeling.
- Manage patient scheduling and assist with administrative tasks.
- Document charges for MRI services and supplies in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Operate power injectors for contrast media administration.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records.
- Mentor new technologists and provide training for students.
- Address the psychological and physical needs of patients undergoing MRI scans.
- Utilize the Image Archival System effectively.

Advanced Duties

- Execute complex tasks related to high field strength magnets to generate specialized radiographic images.
- Position patients appropriately for MRI scans using necessary immobilization and protective measures.
- Support radiologists and physicists in the development of innovative imaging protocols.
- Facilitate research initiatives by employing specific scanning protocols.
- Demonstrate expertise in over 100 MRI protocols within the health system and educate others on their application.

Qualifications

- Education: Completion of a program that meets eligibility criteria for certification or currently holds the required certification.
- Experience: Level I must achieve ARRT certification within 18 months; Level II requires a minimum of two years as an MRI technologist; Level III necessitates at least four years of experience in the specialty modality.
- Licensure/Certification: Certification in Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), CNMT, ARDMS, or registry eligible for Magnetic Resonance (MR) is required. ARRT or ARMRIT registration in Magnetic Resonance (MR) must be obtained within 18 months. BLS certification is also required.
