Job Description:

Scholastic Book Fairs is seeking a dedicated CDL B Driver to transport book fairs and products between branch locations and schools. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient delivery of materials, while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and Pick-up Book Fairs: Safely transport book fairs and products to and from schools, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with supervisors to ensure customer service standards are met, providing excellent service to schools and customers.
  • Truck Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of motor vehicles, reporting any defects or issues to supervisors.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and legible records, including DOT Logs, trip sheets, fuel tickets, and other required paperwork.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all Company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Physical Demands: Lift, carry, and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and push/pull rolling metal book cases, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Communication: Possess good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read road maps and follow directions.
Requirements:
  • Commercial Driving Experience: Verifiable experience as a commercial driver, with a minimum of one year of experience required.
  • CDL License: Possess a valid CDL license with air brake endorsement.
  • Age and Education: Be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, push/pull rolling metal book cases, and transport boxes up and down stairs.
