Job Summary

The Lead Process Engineer plays a critical role in driving business growth and improving operational efficiency at AdvanSix. This position is responsible for developing and implementing process improvements, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand process needs and develop solutions
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards through process design and implementation
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including process design narratives, scaling up laboratory and pilot scale technologies to commercialization scale, conducting design risk assessments, detailed peer reviews of process designs, mass and energy balances, process simulations, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, control system narratives, process equipment and instrumentation sizing and specification development, leading process hazard analysis/HAZOP activities, and supporting capital project engineers through detailed design, equipment purchases, construction, and startup
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification
  • 7-10 years of experience in process, production, and/or manufacturing engineering within the chemical, petroleum, and/or polymer industrial manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Front-End-Loading (FEL) and stage gate project development for major capital projects
  • Experience in polymer/resin processing, solids handling and/or fertilizer manufacturing, large and small molecule production at an industrial scale, major and minor process equipment design, selection, commissioning, and startup, designing and executing projects, proficient in Aspen Plus, PipeFlo, Minitab, Excel, InstruCalc, Autodesk Navisworks Freedom, Uniformance, experience in Process Safety Management covered processes, familiarity with DCS programs such as Experion, Foxboro, or DeltaV
