The Automotive Service Writer will play a crucial role in managing customer interactions and service operations. Responsibilities include overseeing service technicians, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Adhere to company protocols when handling customer inquiries
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and service leads
- Greet customers promptly upon arrival
- Engage with customers to understand their automotive issues
- Ask relevant questions to assist in diagnosing problems
- Input customer data into the management system
- Monitor the status of ongoing service jobs
- Prepare and communicate service estimates to customers
- Address customer inquiries regarding repairs and associated costs
- Process payments upon job completion
- Ensure adequate inventory of parts to facilitate seamless service
- Document and analyze parts sales and repair activities
- Manage warranty information for automotive parts
- Support marketing initiatives to boost sales when needed
- Ensure all ordered parts meet company quality standards
- Utilize negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing on parts
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory
- A minimum of one year of experience in automotive repair or parts sales is essential
- Strong skills in customer service, administration, and organization
