About the Role

The NLP Engineering Director is a critical position that requires expertise in leading and mentoring a team of engineers. As a seasoned leader, you will set technical direction, define best practices, and drive innovation in NLP technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of NLP engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and drive innovation.
  • Solution Architecture: Design and architect scalable, reliable, and performant NLP solutions.
  • Model Development: Develop and implement advanced NLP models and algorithms to solve complex language understanding and generation tasks.
  • Data Preparation: Collect, preprocess, and annotate textual data for training NLP models, ensuring data quality and relevance.
  • Model Training and Evaluation: Train and evaluate NLP models using appropriate techniques and metrics, optimizing for performance, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Model Deployment: Deploy NLP models into production environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and platforms.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of NLP models and systems, leveraging techniques such as distributed computing and GPU acceleration.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end NLP solutions that meet customer requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in NLP engineering, with a proven track record of developing and deploying NLP solutions.
  • Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and expertise in NLP libraries and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of NLP techniques and algorithms, including word embeddings, sequence labeling, text classification, and language generation.
  • Experience with deep learning architectures for NLP tasks, such as recurrent neural networks (RNNs), convolutional neural networks (CNNs), and transformer models.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.

$170,000 - $200,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
