Position Summary

The Pediatric Cardiology Program Manager plays a crucial role in the UCSF Pediatric Specialties, offering tailored support and guidance to patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey with the Pediatric Heart Center. This position serves as a vital resource and advocate, ensuring that pediatric patients receive the necessary assistance from their initial consultation through ongoing follow-up care.

The primary objectives of the Pediatric Cardiology Program Manager include enhancing patient satisfaction and optimizing healthcare outcomes. This role acts as a communication facilitator, addressing the unique non-clinical needs, preferences, and concerns of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Patient Care Coordination**: Serve as a communication link between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring a seamless experience during treatment.
2. **Resource Navigation**: Guide families through a wide array of services and information to support healing and satisfaction with the care experience.
3. **Operational Expertise**: Develop a thorough understanding of the systems and operations relevant to Cardiology and related services, facilitating interdepartmental support for patients.
4. **Emotional Support**: Utilize strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to assist patients with diverse psycho-social needs.
5. **Continuous Learning**: Stay updated on ambulatory care protocols that impact post-discharge outpatient care.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting (3+ years).
- Comprehensive knowledge of Patient Rights & Responsibilities, Joint Commission standards, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
- Proficient in medical terminology and data analysis techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to implement effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with relevant software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities (Spanish, Cantonese, Russian) are a plus.
