Senior Lineworker

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lineworker to join our team at the City of Douglas. As a key member of our electrical distribution team, you will be responsible for installing, constructing, maintaining, altering, and repairing overhead electrical lines, underground cables, and related electrical equipment.

• Install and maintain electrical substations, including reading and interpreting maps, specifications, and staking sheets to accurately place and locate electrical equipment.
• Serve as safety and training coordinator for subordinate personnel, ensuring a safe working environment and providing training and guidance as needed.
• Connect new services for residential and commercial customers and cut off services as directed, using bucket trucks, line trucks, and various digging equipment.
• Maintain and stock trucks, perform electrical system maintenance tasks, and trim and remove trees from electrical system rights-of-way and overhead lines.
• Install and maintain street and security lights, assist with installing and maintaining traffic signals and controllers, and perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3-7 years of experience as a lineman.
• Valid state of Georgia Commercial Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and physical examination.
• Ability to respond and arrive on scene within twenty minutes.
