We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform team at HealthEdge. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our robust and scalable platform that empowers our developers, customers, and partners to create innovative healthcare solutions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in backend development, with experience in Java, Spring, and microservices architecture. You will work closely with our engineering manager and technical lead to provide good project estimates and collaborate with other engineers to validate technical design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate user stories into software solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering manager and technical lead to provide good project estimates
  • Validate technical design with other engineers
  • Communicate technical decisions effectively with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain a high standard for code quality for yourself and others on the team
  • Take technical ownership in areas of a project where applicable
  • Debug and fix challenging production issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure exemplary uptime and reliability
  • Work with customer support to triage, diagnose, and resolve bugs
  • Identify and lead process and technology improvements

What You Bring:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
  • Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring or Ruby on Rails with a microservices architecture
  • At least 5 years of backend development experience and 1 year of frontend experience
  • At least 3 years experience building SaaS or cloud-based commercial software products
  • At least 3 years experience with Java is preferred
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable explaining technical problems and plans in person and in writing to both a technical and a non-technical audience
