Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in Orange, California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to provide high-quality patient care and support our physical therapy team. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our physical therapists to develop and implement treatment plans, conduct patient assessments, and provide education and support to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physical therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs, observing patient behavior, and documenting patient information.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on physical therapy techniques, exercises, and home programs.
  • Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with the physical therapy team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a physical therapy setting.
  • One (1) year of leadership experience preferred.
  • BSN or bachelor's degree in a relevant field required or completion of a relevant bachelor's degree within two (2) years of hire.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement and clinical care delivery processes, staffing, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Nursing Practice Act, JCAHO and other federal, state and local regulatory requirements interpersonal and communication skills.
