About the Role

Cox Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician II to join our Fleet Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, and light and follow-up repairs on various types of truck equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, and cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, power steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled safety training and remain up-to-date on safety protocols and procedures to maintain a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on repair orders using company-issued devices and proprietary applications.
  • Communicate with management, team members, and dispatch via Microsoft Office products and other communication methods to obtain approvals on repair estimates and discuss findings and notes.
  • Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
  • Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service trucks and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • Work with, understand, and evaluate technical information related to the job.
  • Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work-related activities and time allocations.
  • Work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations.
  • Adhere to company policies, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and meet Cox Automotive Mobility minimum driving qualification standards.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Power Technician on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair or equivalent combination of technical education/certifications/skill/experiences.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.
