Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Specialist to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.

You will also evaluate donor reactions, refer to our Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary, and provide guidance on medical or technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine donor eligibility based on medical history, physical examination, and laboratory test results
  • Manage donor adverse events promptly and effectively
  • Review laboratory test results to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Notify donors of unsuitable test results and explain the reasons
  • Evaluate donor reactions and refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed
  • Provide guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; RN, NP, or PA license preferred
  • Current CPR and AED certification required
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years of clinical or hospital experience preferred
