Job Summary

The Access Center Nurse Specialist is a key member of the GBMC HealthCare team, responsible for managing patients pending admission to our programs. This role involves following up on delayed admissions, facilitating timely resolutions, and maintaining a database to track and report reasons for delays. The successful candidate will participate in leadership development, suggest workflow changes, and contribute to the growth of our Field Access RNs and coordinators.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patients pending admission to GBMC HealthCare programs
  • Follow up on delayed admissions and facilitate timely resolutions
  • Maintain a database to track and report reasons for delays
  • Participate in leadership development and suggest workflow changes
  • Contribute to the growth of Field Access RNs and coordinators
Requirements
  • Diploma, ADN, or BSN from an accredited institution
  • Two to four years of nursing experience, with hospice admission experience preferred
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform well in a busy work environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of admission and eligibility requirements
  • Effective planning and organization skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for workflow changes
