Job Duties

As a traveling Physical Therapist for the Commonwealth of Virginia, this position will be based in the central region and may occasionally travel to facilities in the eastern region based on physical therapy needs. The primary role will be to provide physical therapy services to inmates, focusing on outpatient orthopedics and skilled nursing/rehabilitation/acute care.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide physical therapy evaluations, progress notes, updated plans of care, and discharges for inmates.
  2. Collaborate with other Physical Therapy clinic team members and medical staff to improve patient care.
  3. Assist in Physical Therapy Quality Improvement Measures and Data Collections.
  4. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Graduate from an accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
  2. Current physical therapy license in Virginia.
  3. Experience evaluating and treating patients with various acute and chronic orthopedic dysfunctions.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to play an active role collaborating with other medical professionals to provide optimum care.

Additional Considerations

  1. Possesses leadership skills.
  2. Experience in patient-centered program development within rehabilitation settings.
  3. Clinical experience in multiple settings such as outpatient orthopedic, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or acute facilities.
