  • Operate the centralized laboratory computer system and Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Confirm patient identity and the specific tests to be conducted before specimen collection.
  • Collect and process patient samples with precision and care.
  • Track specimens according to established protocols, ensuring proper labeling and processing.
  • Adhere to universal precautions for the collection and disposal of specimens.
  • Conduct basic waived testing as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work and laboratory draw areas.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of medical equipment, including needles and blood vials.
  • Dispose of sharps and biohazardous materials following safety protocols.
  • Uphold all HIPAA confidentiality policies and regulations.

Attendance and Collaboration:

Regular and reliable attendance is essential for this role. The ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues is equally important.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy from a recognized organization.
