Recovery and Wellness Center Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team at Collaborative Support Programs. This individual will work closely with the Center Manager and other staff members to plan and implement wellness center operations, develop community resources, and provide support to individuals in recovery.
Job Responsibilities- Collaborate with the manager and members to plan and conduct all aspects of day-to-day operations of the center.
- Model principles of peer support, mutuality, and wellness to promote a positive and supportive environment.
- Implement Center policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- Support members by providing guidance on recovery from substance use disorders.
- Train members on the negative health and social consequences of dependence on alcohol and drugs.
- Coordinate Allies of Recovery and Friends of Recovery groups to foster a sense of community.
- Offer referrals to members regarding wellness, recovery, peer support, and community services.
- Provide individual peer support as needed, working closely with the manager and members.
- Assist the manager in developing and maintaining community relations and marketing efforts for the center.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certification as a peer specialist in SUD or MH is essential.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary for success in this role.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to build strong relationships with members and colleagues.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and documentation.
- Knowledge of wellness, the mental health system, and community resources is crucial for providing accurate information and support.
- The ability to make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services is vital.
- A willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery is required.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Proficient in MS Office products is necessary for tasks such as record-keeping and data entry.
- Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
- A valid NJ Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Lived Experience: We prioritize hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday. The hourly rate is $21.63. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as six weeks of paid time off and eleven holidays.
Salary EstimateThe estimated salary for this position is $43,376 - $52,630 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and $21.63 hourly wage.
