The psychiatrist will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluations and psychopharmacological treatments to patients within the health center. This role involves collaborating with medical professionals, mental health clinicians, case managers, and other staff as directed by the supervisor.
As an integral part of the clinical team, the psychiatrist will be responsible for:
- Coordinating care for individual patients and supporting families in self-management through evidence-based practices.
- Engaging in health center initiatives tailored to specific patient populations.
- Utilizing effective communication strategies, including health literacy, when interacting with patients.
Additionally, the psychiatrist will:
- Consult with psychotherapists regarding the mental health concerns of patients as necessary.
- Provide care for some adult patients.
- Collaborate with community providers as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, along with other administrative responsibilities.
- Offer clinical supervision to mid-level psychiatric providers and psychiatric nurses as assigned.
- Complete necessary documentation for schools, welfare, disability, and other social service agencies.
The ideal candidate must be board certified or in the process of obtaining board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry.
