Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Technician to join our team at Powell. As a Senior Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install electrical systems and components, including wiring, cables, and connectors.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to ensure proper functioning of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Work closely with electricians and other technicians to complete projects and ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Lead a small team of employees to complete specific tasks assigned by lead wireperson and/or supervisor.
  • Perform root cause analysis on engineering changes and correct discrepancies.
  • Install transformer cables, CTs, and Mimic Bus.
  • Make coaxial cable and terminate and run wire for MCC, SWGR, and harnesses according to wire diagram.
  • Identify and track shortages, and assist in processing ship loose.
  • Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings.
  • Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.
Requirements
  • Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of system software (Oracle, MES, True View) to look up parts and drawings.
  • Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.

Working & Environmental Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses as required, and respirators when required. Must be able to work from all types of ladders and scaffolding, and work at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air on or using proper lift equipment.

Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs. Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously. Continuous standing, walking 50–300-foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting. Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift. Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently. Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs. Frequent use of hand tools such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time.
