Job Title: Director of Civil Engineering

W&A Engineering, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Civil Engineering to lead our civil department in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil site design and the ability to motivate and lead a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish department goals and objectives that align with the company's overall mission statement
  • Lead and motivate a team of employees to achieve department goals
  • Plan and coordinate the overall work of the department
  • Oversee department operations and ensure that goals and objectives are met
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Provide staff training and development opportunities
  • Participate in budget development and allocation of funds
  • Guide managers on implementing company initiatives and policies
  • Review and approve employee time-off requests and project billing
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures to enhance production and quality control
  • Assess and report department progress to leadership
  • Oversee project progress and ensure timely completion
  • Review project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget
  • Analyze department utilization and profitability
  • Participate in proposal writing and contract review processes
  • Allocate departmental resources to optimize productivity and ROI
  • Maintain awareness of industry and market trends
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Represent the company in professional groups and the community
  • Responsible for client satisfaction, management, and growth
  • Continuously develop professionally by maintaining technical proficiency and participating in continuing education opportunities
  • Mitigate risk in the department

Requirements:

  • Extensive technical knowledge of civil engineering
