Watco Corp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Conductor to join our team. As a Student Conductor, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of trains, ensuring the smooth operation of our rail network.

• Coordinate and control train movements, including switching railcars in rail yards and industrial plants.
• Supervise and direct train crews to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Read and interpret switching orders, track signals, and other critical information to make informed decisions.
• Communicate effectively with train dispatchers, engineers, and other crew members to coordinate train movements.
• Monitor and maintain records of train movements, including car numbers, origins, destinations, and cargo.

• High school education or equivalent.
• 3-6 months of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to understand basic math and apply common sense to carry out instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels.

The work environment is typically moderate, with moderate noise levels. The Student Conductor will be required to work in a rail yard or industrial plant setting, with exposure to various weather conditions.
