Position Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering patient care and support. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, nutrition, mobility, elimination, and safety as directed by the Charge Nurse in accordance with established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record based on established standards.
- Complete personal belonging sheets upon admission and record vital signs accurately.
- Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Conduct regular rounds and reposition residents as needed to maintain their well-being.
- Measure and document intake and output accurately, communicating changes to the Charge Nurse.
- Assist with procedures and treatments as directed, maintaining a well-stocked supply of necessary items.
- Engage in continuous education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred but not mandatory.
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the relevant state.
- CPR certification required or willingness to obtain within six months.
- Experience in long-term care is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and maintain a productive schedule.
- Physical capability to lift and transfer patients safely, using proper techniques.
- Manual dexterity and coordination for effective patient care.
